VM 2020 - mulig transportstøtte

Formanden har modtaget nedenstående mail fra afholderne af næste VM i Florida. Der ser ud til at være mulighed for noget transport støtte.

Dear global A-Class sailors, 

As chair of the 2020 Worlds, I would like to personally invite you to participate in the best organized ACAT sailing regatta to date.

The North American A-Class fleet has been the fastest growing single hand sailing fleet in our continent, as we just held our most successful North American Championships to date, last October.

It will not only be a great sailing venue, but also a full week of activities for the families. Museum and restaurant tours during the day and special parties during the night. Dance at the Dali Museum “Suenos de Dali” Gala on the 24th of October and at the roaring 20’s party at the Tampa Bay Auto Museum… All details will to be posted by the end of April.

St Petersburg Yacht Club is one of the most famous Yacht Club in the Worlds, whose members include America’s cup Skippers and crew. Over 100 years old, it knows how to run World Championships and have great award dinners.

We will also make it very easy for everyone to ship their boats over and store their equipment. We are working on special shipping rates and container storage, all of which should be defined by the end of March. Not to mention that their will be a special prize for the Country with the most participant outside of North America, and that every country who can fill a container with 8 boats for eight sailors will get a $2000.00 certificate.

Our Sponsors are also being very generous, eager to see 200 Classic and Foilers (our regattas have seen the same numer of Classic and Foilers participate) on the Tampa Bay waters. As of today, we have secured Land Rover Jaguar, Zhik, Goesling Rum, Ronstan, North Sail, Tornado boats, Maui Jim sun Glasses…

In the meantime, please register  as the more boats we have early, the best we can plan for the event. We already have close to 50 registered, or ¼ there!
