Nordic Championships in Swedens Qingdao

The Nordic Championships where held at the Worlds location of 2006 - Vastervik in Sweden. But this time the course wasn't “offshore” like in 2006 but inside the skerries.

Some very light and shifty winds where the conditions to handle for the sailors, and some experienced quite some elevations during the races, like when the Danish Tornado sailor Allan Nørregaad (who didn’t make the cut for the Olympic and decided to take part in the Nordic A-Class Championships) went from a clear lead to a second last during one downwind leg in the 3rd race…

In the end Pontus Johnsson and Thomas Persson where at a tie but to the advantage of Pontus, who took the overall win and holds on to the top of the leader board of the Nordic A-Class Cup. Thomas Paasch took the 3rd place.
Pontus is the only one who has 3 counting races in the cup. The upcoming Danish Nationals might bring some change, as more sailors will have 3 counting scores and even out he's huge lead. Thomas Persson and Thomas Paasch are strong contestants for a take over off the overall lead…
